A tragic crash on Long Island’s Southern State Parkway left two dead and two injured, prompting an investigation by state police.

All four were in the same vehicle, and only that one car was involved in the accident. The crash happened while they were heading east near Exit 30 around 11 p.m. The eastbound lanes were shut down for about six hours but were back open before the morning rush.
Drivers in the area mentioned that this stretch of the parkway is notorious for speeding and reckless driving. One driver, Ashley McQueen, noted that accidents are common there because people weave in and out of traffic.
The car ended up flipped over in the grassy median, and there were signs of a serious collision, including marks on a tree and a knocked-down exit sign. New York State Police are looking into what happened. It’s a sad reminder of how quickly things can change on the road.
