Franklin: So, here’s the scoop. The Franklin Police Department arrested two guys after they tried to run away from the cops on Sunday. They were up to no good, and it all started when someone reported some suspicious activity near Skokiaan Drive. Apparently, these two were messing around with a red SUV for a good 20-30 minutes.

When the police showed up, Chase Coy and Jacob Porter took off. During the chase, officers found some drugs in the SUV, including meth and marijuana, along with a glass pipe. The owner of the SUV had no idea they were using her car, thinking it was in the shop for maintenance. She even reported it stolen!

The cops tracked down Coy hiding in a truck, but he didn’t go down easy. He resisted arrest but was eventually cuffed. Meanwhile, they found Porter stuck in a drainage pipe, about 50 feet in and struggling in icy water. He was having a tough time, likely due to hypothermia.

Porter managed to get out and was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for acute hypothermia. Once he was released, he was taken to jail. He’s facing charges for obstructing official business and had some outstanding felony warrants for drug possession. Coy is also in trouble, charged with criminal trespass and resisting arrest. What a wild day for the Franklin police!
