Washington: So, it looks like President-elect Donald Trump is gearing up to hit the ground running. Senator John Barrasso mentioned that we can expect a whole bunch of executive orders right after the inauguration on January 20. He called it a “blizzard” of orders, especially focusing on the economy and border issues.

Barrasso, who’s now the Senate majority whip, pointed out that these executive orders let Trump sidestep Congress. But he also thinks Trump will lean on the slim Republican majorities in both the Senate and House to push his plans through.

During a recent chat with Trump, Barrasso said the top priority for the Senate should be getting Trump’s team in place. He’s met most of the nominees and is all in for them. His job is to help them get confirmed quickly so they can start working.

Barrasso also noted that Trump isn’t too fussed about how many bills it takes to get things done. He just wants results, whether it’s one bill or three. Sounds like it’s going to be an interesting start to his presidency!
