Washington: So, Trump is gearing up for a busy first day in office. He’s got a bunch of executive orders ready to go. These orders are aimed at shaking things up, especially around immigration and the economy.
He’s planning to declare a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border. This means he’ll send troops to help with immigration enforcement. Plus, he wants to limit refugees and asylum seekers. Remember when he made asylum seekers wait in Mexico? He’s thinking about bringing that back, but it’s unclear if Mexico will cooperate again.
On the economic front, Trump wants to ease regulations for oil and natural gas production. He’s also looking to tackle inflation with a broad government approach. However, he seems to be holding off on imposing tariffs on other countries for now.
In terms of social policies, he’s set to roll back protections for transgender individuals and end diversity programs in the federal government. One of his orders will define gender strictly as male or female based on biological traits, which is a big shift from current policies.
