Trump’s Mar-a-Lago flags are back at full height, defying mourning protocols for Carter.

Carter passed away on December 29, and both President Biden and Florida Governor DeSantis had ordered flags to be lowered until January 28. Initially, Trump followed the rules, but after Carter’s burial, he decided to raise the flag again.
It’s a bit of a stir since Trump has been vocal about his annoyance with the half-staff situation coinciding with his upcoming inauguration. He’s had a mixed relationship with Carter, criticizing him during the campaign but later offering some praise after his death.
Interestingly, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has also jumped into the mix, ordering flags at state buildings to be at full-staff on Inauguration Day. He mentioned the need to honor both the former president and the incoming one.
Oh, and Trump did pay his respects at Carter’s casket and attended the funeral service last week. Just a lot going on in the political scene right now!
