West Palm Beach: So, here’s the scoop. Trump’s flags at Mar-a-Lago are back up to full height. This comes right after the mourning period for Jimmy Carter, who passed away on December 29.

Initially, the flags were lowered to half-staff, which is the usual protocol. But after Carter’s burial last Thursday in Plains, Georgia, Trump decided to raise them again.

Both President Biden and Florida’s Governor DeSantis had ordered flags to stay at half-staff for 30 days, which means they should’ve stayed down until January 28. Trump wasn’t too happy about this, especially since it falls on the day he’s set to be sworn in for his second term.

Even though he criticized Carter during the campaign, he did share some kind words after the former president’s death at 100 years old. A spokesperson for Trump didn’t respond right away when asked for comments on this situation.

Interestingly, Trump did pay his respects at Carter’s casket while it was in the Capitol Rotunda and attended the state funeral service last week.
