U.S. News reveals the best jobs for 2025, highlighting salaries and job growth potential.

West Palm Beach: For the second year running, nurse practitioners are topping the charts as the best job in the U.S., according to U.S. News & World Report. They boast a solid median salary of $126,260 and a promising outlook with 135,500 new jobs expected in the next decade.
Nurse practitioners are advanced practice registered nurses who provide direct patient care. They can do everything from ordering tests to treating various conditions and even prescribing medications.
In the runner-up spot is the IT manager, with a median salary of $169,510 and 106,900 jobs projected in the next ten years. U.S. News points out that while job satisfaction can vary, most people want good pay, job security, and chances for advancement.
The rankings are based on five key factors: future prospects, wage potential, job availability, safety, and work-life balance. Future prospects were weighted the most heavily, followed by salary potential.
Interestingly, if you’re in South Florida, being a pilot pays really well. The Miami area is one of the top spots for pilot salaries. Port St. Lucie also ranks high for emergency medicine physicians.
