Brigantine: A little kid was found wandering outside in the freezing cold after their babysitter got so drunk she passed out. It all went down on a Monday afternoon.

A neighbor spotted the toddler and quickly stepped in to help. They found the babysitter, Jena Davidson, completely unconscious inside the house. The police and emergency services were called right away.

Davidson, 35, from Ventnor City, was in pretty bad shape. She needed life support and was rushed to the hospital. The police said she had consumed a lot of the homeowner’s alcohol, which led to her being unresponsive.

She’s now facing serious charges for endangering the child’s welfare. The child’s parent was notified and hurried home after hearing the news.

Davidson had been hired through Nanny Lane, a site for finding babysitters. Her profile was still active, and she claimed to be a kindergarten teacher with plans to become a nurse.

She had experience in childcare since she was 15 and charged $18 an hour for her services. Nanny Lane has since blocked her from their site and emphasized the importance of background checks for families.

Thankfully, the toddler is safe, and the neighbor acted quickly to prevent a worse situation.
