A former TK Maxx employee shares a secret code that helps shoppers spot real bargains in the store

Manchester: A former TK Maxx employee has spilled the beans on a secret number system used by the store. This system helps customers figure out if they’re getting a real deal or just a regular price.
Daniel Baker, who used to work as a senior merchandiser, shared this handy tip on a Channel 5 show. He explained that shoppers should pay attention to the numbers on the labels.
According to Daniel, the number two is the one to look for. It means the item was genuinely sold at a higher price somewhere else. He mentioned that this is often excess stock or something similar.
He also broke down the main codes you’ll see: one, two, and seven. A one means the item was made just for TK Maxx. A two indicates a closeout buy, which is unsold stock from another brand that they got at a deal.
As for the seven, it refers to packaway items, like Christmas crackers that are stored for the next year. Daniel noted that you can find good value with a type one, but for the best bargains, you should definitely look for twos and sevens.
He described shopping at TK Maxx as a treasure hunt, always on the lookout for those type twos. The code is usually on the right side of the label and is just a single number without a zero in front.
