Meanwhile, there was a heated debate at the Oakland Police Commission meeting about the police’s pursuit policy. Citizens and business owners think it should be relaxed to help reduce crime. Even Governor Gavin Newsom is pushing for changes to the current rules, which only allow pursuits for violent crime.

And on a lighter note, rival high school basketball teams St. Ignatius and Sacred Heart faced off in their annual doubleheader at the Chase Center, with St. Ignatius taking home wins for both boys and girls teams.
