Washington D.C.: This Sunday, about 4,000 police officers from 178 different agencies were sworn in for the Presidential Inauguration. They’ll have police powers in D.C. through Monday.

DC Police Chief Pamela Smith mentioned that these officers were deputized under the US Marshals Service. They’ll be stationed throughout the city where they’re needed most.

Major Albert Gosselin from Connecticut State Police shared that it took 11 months to prepare for sending 35 officers to help out. He expressed how happy they were to accept the invitation.

Smith noted that many officers reached out to her, eager to assist. Chiefs from various police departments across the U.S. contacted her, even as late as last week.

Officer Joe Ramirez from Minnesota highlighted the honor of being part of this event. He feels inspired knowing there are many good people working together for a better world.

These officers understand the significance of their role in ensuring a smooth transition of power. Ramirez emphasized that it’s a privilege to be involved in such an important democratic process.

Detective Raymond Charfauros from North Carolina echoed this sentiment, stating that their mission is all about service and protecting the values of life and liberty.
