A Calgary man lost his valuable comic book collection in a quick theft, leaving him frustrated and heartbroken over the loss.

Calgary: A guy named Heath McCoy had a pretty rough day. In just five minutes, a thief broke into his storage unit and made off with his comic book collection, which he says is worth a ton of money.
Heath shared how gut-wrenching it was to find out his beloved comics were gone. He’s been collecting them since he was a kid, and they mean a lot to him. It’s not just about the money; it’s about the memories tied to those comics.
He thought he was safe with good locks on his unit. But the thief managed to cut through a latch and get in. Some of the stolen comics include “The Amazing Spiderman,” “Captain Britain,” and “X-Men.” Heath estimates his X-Men collection alone is worth around $2,500.
He even showed CityNews some security camera footage that captured the thief entering the storage area. Heath is really frustrated with how the storage company handled everything. He feels they should have better security measures in place.
It took the company a week to get back to him, and they didn’t even notice the comics were missing. Heath thinks the cameras should be positioned better to catch license plates when people come in.
When CityNews reached out to Sentinel Storage, they didn’t share much info, citing privacy laws. Heath just hopes the thief will do the right thing and return his cherished collection. After all, some of those comics are nearly 40 years old, and he feels it was a really low blow to take them.
