Tonight, the Wolf Moon will light up the skies in Rochester, peaking at 5:27 PM. Don’t miss this stunning celestial event!

You might wonder why it’s called the Wolf Moon. Well, it’s said that wolves howled more during January, especially when the ground was covered in frost and snow. Pretty cool, right?
If you’re curious about other names for this moon, it’s also known as the Center Moon, Freeze Up Moon, and the Hard Moon.
Looking ahead, the next full moon is the Snow Moon, which will show up on February 12. Moonrise for that one is around 5:50 PM.
And don’t forget, Mars will be super close to Earth on January 16, making it a great time to check out the Red Planet. It’ll be bright and visible all night long!
