Arlington: Police are on the hunt for a suspect who fled an armed robbery on Friday. It was a wild scene where several victims were found bound with tape.

According to Lt. Courtney White, a passerby spotted two possibly armed men entering a title loan business and called 911 around 6:45 p.m. Officers quickly arrived and secured the exits.

One suspect bolted out the back, and as he ran, he started firing at the officers. They shot back, but he managed to escape out the front and was caught without further incident.

The employees inside were found with their hands and legs taped up, but thankfully, no one was hurt during the chaos. The man who was arrested is 37-year-old Kelvin Bivens, who now faces charges for aggravated assault and robbery.

It turns out Bivens had an outstanding robbery warrant from Louisiana. The other suspect, however, is still on the loose, and police are actively pursuing leads to track him down.

An internal review is underway to see if the officers followed proper procedures during the incident. The officers involved are on administrative leave while the department’s homicide unit looks into any potential criminal activity.

White mentioned that the officers who fired their weapons have been with the department for 2 and 3 years, but their names haven’t been released yet.

She also praised the citizen who called 911, urging everyone to report anything suspicious. It’s a reminder that if you see something odd, don’t hesitate to reach out to the authorities.
