Diego Leon is in Manchester for a medical as he prepares to join Manchester United from Cerro Porteno in a £6 million deal

He’s just landed in Manchester to wrap things up, but don’t expect him to hit the pitch right away. He’ll officially join the team in the summer. During his visit, he’ll get to meet the staff and check out the training facilities at Carrington.
It seems like United’s technical director, Jason Wilcox, has been instrumental in making this happen. They’re also looking to tap into more talent from South America in the future.
Leon plays as a left-back, a position that’s been a bit tricky for United lately with injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. They’re still planning to bring in a more experienced left-back this summer since Leon is still quite young and will need some time to adjust to the English game.
Speaking of young talent, Sekou Kone, who’s also just 18, joined from Mali last year. He’s still finding his feet, having only made one start for the Under-21s this season. Both Leon and Kone are seen as promising players who could make it to the first team eventually.
