Stockholm: A Swedish artist is living the dream! Mikael Genberg’s little red model house just launched into space. It’s headed for the moon, and he’s been dreaming about this for 25 years.

The Moonhouse, which is about the size of a big hand, hitched a ride on a lunar lander from a Japanese company called ispace. It took off on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral early Wednesday.

Genberg shared that it’s a “crazy, maybe idiotic” idea, but he finds it really poetic to have a red house with white corners on the moon. He’s super excited to see it finally happen.

The house is made of aluminum and painted with special space-certified paint. It measures just under 5 inches long, but Genberg believes it will stand out on the moon.

His Moonhouse has traveled all over the world before this, from trees to underwater, and even to the International Space Station.

While Genberg came up with the idea, around 70 people helped fund the project, raising between $620,000 and $888,000.

If all goes well, the lunar rover will land on the moon in about four months, release the house, snap some photos, and leave it there for ages. How cool is that?
