Henderson: So, a judge has decided to keep this guy, Johnathan Gaston, locked up without bail. They’re worried about his criminal history, which is pretty extensive.

He’s 43 and got arrested for hitting a police sergeant, Scott Alward, with his Jeep. Alward ended up with a nasty head injury that needed 11 staples. Ouch!

Gaston’s got a record with eight felonies and a few misdemeanors. He even skipped court before, which didn’t help his case. The judge mentioned he was already supposed to be monitored electronically for another issue.

The whole thing kicked off when police spotted a stolen license plate on Gaston’s SUV. They found him in a Panda Express parking lot, and things got wild. Alward had to fire his gun as Gaston drove toward him.

After the chaos, Gaston took off but was later found with a gunshot wound to his arm. He showed up in court with his arm in a sling, looking pretty emotional.

His girlfriend, Jeanna, was there too, saying the car was hers and she had no clue about the stolen plate. She insisted he’s a good guy, but it’s hard to see that right now.

Gaston’s been living in Las Vegas since 2011 and worked at the Flamingo. He’s also got two kids. It’s a tough situation all around.
