Learn how to submit your disability review report online for SSDI or SSI benefits
You’ll get a notice when it’s time for your review, and they’ll keep you updated on your benefits. How often they check depends on whether your condition might get better.
Typically, they’ll review your case within 6 to 18 months if they think you might improve. If there’s a chance of improvement, they’ll check every three years. If they don’t expect any change, it’ll be every seven years.
Good news! If you’re getting disability benefits, you can fill out and submit the Medical Continuing Disability Review Report (SSA-454) online. This option is for adults on SSDI, SSI, or both, who don’t have a representative payee. Just log into your personal my Social Security account and choose “Complete Your Continuing Disability Review.” If you don’t have an account yet, head over to www.ssa.gov/myaccount to set one up.
No account? No problem! You can still print the SSA-454 form from www.ssa.gov/forms/ssa-454-bk.pdf and either mail it or take it to your local Social Security office.
Make sure to pass this info along to friends or family who might need it.
