Seattle: So, Starbucks is shaking things up a bit. They’re now letting all customers, not just rewards members, get free refills on brewed coffee and tea. But there’s a catch—you need to bring your own reusable cup and order in-store. This change kicks in on January 27.

You can refill your hot or iced brewed coffee and tea, but don’t expect it for flavored iced teas or cold brews. Previously, only rewards members enjoyed this perk, but now everyone can join in. Just remember, starting February 12, even rewards members will need to use a reusable cup or a ceramic mug for refills.

In addition to this, Starbucks is tightening up its open-door policy. This means that from January 27, only paying customers and their guests can use the store facilities. This change comes after some backlash from an incident in Philadelphia a few years back.

Starbucks wants to make sure that their cafés are comfy spots for paying customers to relax. Jaci Anderson, a rep for Starbucks, mentioned that this new code of conduct is pretty standard for retailers and helps prioritize those who are buying. It looks like new CEO Brian Niccol is keen on making Starbucks a go-to hangout again.
