Patricia Arquette and Adam Scott tease insights into their characters’ secrets in Severance’s upcoming season

New York: Patricia Arquette often gets bombarded with questions about the mysteries in “Severance.” Friends and family are always curious about what’s happening in the show.
She told The Post that she’s become pretty good at keeping secrets. “They always try to get me to spill the beans, but I don’t,” she said.
Season 2 is set to drop on January 17 on AppleTV+. The show is a sci-fi thriller about employees at a strange biotech company called Lumon.
Characters like Mark (Adam Scott) and Helly (Britt Lower) are “severed,” meaning they have chips in their brains that split their work and home lives. Arquette plays Harmony Cobel, their unpredictable boss.
There are so many mysteries in the show, like what Harmony really wants and what Lumon is up to, including the bizarre goat department.
Even though viewers are left guessing, Arquette knows some of Harmony’s motivations. “I think I know what some of her motivations are for sure,” she shared.
She finds Harmony’s character fascinating, saying, “I enjoy her volatility and her thought process, which is so different from mine.”
At the end of Season 1, Harmony got fired, but she seems to be a true believer in Lumon’s cult-like teachings, which include worshipping the late CEO, Kier.
Arquette mentioned her own upbringing, saying, “I didn’t grow up with strict boundaries or a religious background.” She finds it interesting to explore indoctrination in the show.
Scott also hinted that he knows the answers to some of the show’s biggest questions, like the goats and Lumon’s true purpose.
He enjoys playing both sides of his character, “innie Mark” at work and “outie Mark” in the real world. “I like both sides,” he said, appreciating the different aspects of each version.
“Severance” has sparked tons of fan theories online, but Scott doesn’t dive into them. “I’ve heard some, but I don’t really explore them myself,” he admitted.
