Washington: This week, the Senate is gearing up for hearings on several of Trump’s Cabinet picks. It’s a big step in the nomination process.

After all the buzz about who Trump would choose, it’s time for the nominees to face the Senate committees. They’ve already met with some senators, but now it’s showtime.

On Tuesday, the first nominee is Doug Collins for the Department of Veterans Affairs. He’s a former congressman and a Navy chaplain, so he’s got some solid experience.

Next up is Pete Hegseth for the Department of Defense. He’s a former Army National Guard combat vet and has been in the spotlight lately due to some serious allegations. That’ll be interesting to watch.

Then there’s Doug Burgum, who’s in line for the Interior Department. He’s a former governor and has been a Trump supporter, so he’s got that going for him.

On Wednesday, Kristi Noem, the governor of South Dakota, will be up for Homeland Security. She’s got a big job ahead if she gets confirmed, especially with Trump’s plans for border security.

Pam Bondi, the former Florida attorney general, will also be in the hot seat. She’s been close to Trump for a while, so her confirmation is highly anticipated.

Sean Duffy, a former congressman, will be questioned for the Transportation Department, while John Ratcliffe is up for the CIA. That’s a crucial role, so eyes will be on him.

Marco Rubio is also in the mix for Secretary of State, which is a huge position. He’ll need to navigate some tricky diplomatic waters if he gets the nod.

Thursday brings more nominees, including Scott Turner for Housing and Urban Development and Lee Zeldin for the Environmental Protection Agency. They’ll have their work cut out for them.

Some nominees still don’t have confirmed hearing dates, like Lori Chavez-DeRemer for Labor and Tulsi Gabbard for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. It’ll be interesting to see how that unfolds.
