Authorities are looking for a driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run in Lake County, Florida, that left a pedestrian dead.
The incident happened on Monday evening around 6:52 p.m. on U.S. Highway 27. A tow truck was helping a 37-year-old man from Auburndale who had gotten out of his vehicle. He was trying to guide traffic away from the disabled car when the Kia struck him.
The impact was severe, sending the man into the tow truck’s mirror. After hitting him, the Kia driver sped off, turning onto Margaux Drive. They even hit a decorative rock before continuing south on U.S. 27.
Witnesses provided details about the car to the FHP. Sadly, first responders confirmed that the pedestrian died at the scene.
