A shopper’s viral TikTok video criticizes Sainsbury’s for high Cadbury Mini Eggs prices, urging them to fix it

London: A shopper is really upset about the price of Cadbury Mini Eggs at Sainsbury’s. They took to TikTok to vent their frustration, and it’s gone viral.
The shopper, known as JUDVH, pointed out that a 270g bag now costs £4.85. That’s a big jump from last year, and people are not happy about it.
With Easter around the corner, the price increase has caught many off guard. JUDVH called out Sainsbury’s and Cadbury, saying, “£4.85 for a 270g bag? That’s ridiculous!”
They compared the price to Lindt chocolates, which are still cheaper. JUDVH suggested that Mini Eggs should be priced at £1 for every 100 grams instead.
They also criticized the label calling it a “family pack,” questioning who it would actually feed. The video sparked a lot of comments, with one user saying they found them cheaper at Tesco.
Others chimed in, recalling when they could buy Mini Eggs for just £1 during the pandemic. Many expressed their frustration over rising prices and shrinking product sizes.
One person even joked that they could finish the so-called family pack in just two minutes. The price increase has been noticed at other stores too, with prices rising across the board.
Last year, a 110g bar was £1.25, but now it’s £2 at Tesco and Morrisons. Even smaller bags have seen price hikes, with Sainsbury’s charging £1.85 for an 80g bag.
Cadbury and Sainsbury’s have yet to respond to the backlash.
