Ruben Amorim is eager to see how his Manchester United squad performs against Southampton

Recently, Manchester United managed to do something only a handful of teams have done this season—they held Liverpool to a draw at Anfield. They even pushed their FA Cup match against Arsenal to penalties, despite being down to ten men after Diogo Dalot got sent off.
But let’s be real, if they can pull that off after getting thrashed by Newcastle, something’s definitely off. That 2-0 loss could have been way worse, and it came right after a defeat to Wolves, who are fighting relegation.
Bruno Fernandes had some thoughts after the Liverpool match. He said it was a good result but also expressed frustration. He wondered why they can’t play like that every week, especially against top teams.
Sure, every team has off days, but United’s struggles have been pretty consistent. They’ve had a couple of rare midweek breaks lately, giving Amorim some much-needed time to work with the squad.
Now, the big question is whether the better performance at Anfield was due to that extra training or if this team just shows up for the big games while slipping against teams they should beat.
Tomorrow night, they’ll face Southampton, who are at the bottom of the table. Amorim will soon find out what his players are really made of.
