As Inauguration Day approaches, Rochester locals are making travel plans to attend the event in Washington, D.C.

People from Rochester are making their travel arrangements, whether they’re going with friends or flying solo. Monroe County GOP Chairman Patrick Reilly is all set to join the New York State delegation for the big day. He mentioned that the delegation will kick off activities the Saturday before with speeches, fundraising, and discussions.
On Sunday, they’ll have a breakfast featuring various speakers. Reilly also plans to attend Trump’s rally that afternoon, followed by a reception for New Yorkers. Inauguration Day itself will be packed with parades, the official ceremony, and numerous balls. It’s shaping up to be a busy weekend with events hosted by various organizations.
Cecil Johnson, from the Black Republican Club of Rochester, is excited to attend, seeing it as a historic moment. He hopes for a shift in policies that empower people. Marcus C. Williams, another member of the club, is thrilled as it’s his first presidential inauguration. He views it as a chance to bring power back to the people.
Abdul Bounds, a friend of Williams, is also eager to see Trump deliver on his promises. He feels hopeful after attending a rally in New York City. Larry Staub, a Republican activist, sees the inauguration as a significant event in American democracy, celebrating the transition of power.
The inauguration will take place on January 20, coinciding with Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is a national holiday this year. The Swearing-In Ceremony is set for noon EST at the U.S. Capitol’s West Front. While the full schedule is still being finalized, the day promises to be memorable for many attendees.
