Visitation for Rev. James E. Flynn will be held in New Lenox following his passing last week, honoring his years of service.

Flynn served as an assistant pastor at various parishes until he retired in 2012. After retirement, he continued to help at Ascension-St. Susanna Parish and St. Gerard Majella Parish.
Rev. Thadeo Mgimba, who worked with Flynn, described him as a mentor and a friend. He remembered Flynn as humble and kind-hearted.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, located at 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox. There will also be a service on Saturday morning at Our Lady of Kibeho Parish before the funeral Mass.
Flynn was ordained in 1967 and served in several parishes throughout his career. He was known for his dedication and was loved by many in the church community.
His friend, Rev. Robert Gilbert, praised Flynn as a good man and an even better priest, highlighting his commitment to the Archdiocese of Chicago.
