Los Angeles: Renée Zellweger recently opened up about her six-year break from acting, saying it was something she really needed. In an interview with British Vogue, she chatted with Hugh Grant about her time away from the spotlight.
She mentioned feeling tired of hearing her own voice while acting. It was like she was stuck in a loop of the same emotions. So, she decided to take a step back from 2010 to 2016.
But don’t think she was just lounging around! During her break, she picked up new hobbies. She wrote music, studied international law, and even built a house. Plus, she rescued some older dogs and spent quality time with family and friends.
Renée took a break right after filming “My Own Love Song” in 2010. She didn’t return until 2016 when she reprised her role in “Bridget Jones’s Baby.”
Reflecting on her decision, she said it was tough to say no to great projects. But she was exhausted and needed time to recharge. One of the best parts of her break? She got to enjoy life out of the public eye.
She found it refreshing to connect with people without the pressure of her celebrity status. Renée believes that to tell good stories, you need real-life experiences.
In 2019, she shared that her time off helped her focus on what truly mattered to her. She wanted to slow down and build a meaningful life, even finding love along the way.
Since then, she’s been back in the spotlight, especially after starting a relationship with Ant Anstead in 2021. They seem to be going strong, and it looks like she’s found a nice balance in her life now.
