Las Vegas: The Raiders are really stepping up their game off the field. Their charity work is making waves in the Las Vegas Valley. The team’s annual Impact Playbook, released on January 3, highlights their community efforts and charitable contributions.

Sandra Douglass Morgan, the Raiders President, mentioned that this report shows their commitment to excellence goes beyond just football. It’s about what they stand for as a team.

In 2024, the Raiders and their foundation donated over $1.7 million to local charities and educational programs. They even held a gala that raised $500,000 for the Legal Aid of Southern Nevada. Barbara Buckley, the executive director there, praised the Raiders for recognizing mental health issues.

The Raiders Foundation also gave out $500,000 in grants to 40 organizations. Douglass Morgan explained that anyone can apply for these grants, which range from $2,500 to $20,000, focusing on health, military, and youth development.

On the environmental front, the Raiders are making strides at Allegiant Stadium, the largest venue in Nevada. They’re committed to being eco-friendly, saving 535 million gallons of water in 2024 by using high-efficiency fixtures.

They hope that by showcasing their water-saving efforts, others in the community will join in. The team also composts landscape waste, recycling over 46,000 pounds last year.

Douglass Morgan emphasized the importance of maintaining a natural grass field, which is moved into the stadium on game days. They also repurpose rubber turf pellets, diverting over 73,000 pounds from landfills.

Food waste is another focus, with nearly 748,000 pounds of scraps donated to local farms. Their sustainability efforts earned them two Green Sports Alliance Play to Zero Awards.

The Raiders also prioritize small businesses, especially minority- and female-owned ones. They host showcases to help these businesses gain visibility.

Their connection with former players is strong, with the motto “Once a Raider, always a Raider.” They recently hosted an Alumni Wellness Weekend, offering health services to former players and their families.

Mark Davis, the owner, emphasizes the importance of alumni in the team’s success and community contributions. It’s clear the Raiders are committed to making a positive impact in Las Vegas.
