A new poll shows many Americans doubt Trump can reduce costs in his upcoming term

Only about 20% of Americans are really confident he can make a dent in those costs this year. Even among his supporters, there’s a bit of doubt. It seems like people are hoping for job growth, though, with around 30% feeling optimistic about that.
Republicans are still pretty hopeful about Trump’s presidency, with 80% thinking he’ll do a decent job. But Democrats? They’re not too thrilled, with many expecting him to be a poor president this time around, although their fears seem a bit less intense than before.
When it comes to the economy, confidence is low. Just a third of Americans feel strongly that he can handle it well. And on health care, the skepticism is even higher. Only about 20% believe he can tackle those issues effectively.
Despite all this, Trump’s popularity hasn’t taken a hit, even with all the controversies surrounding him. Many Republicans are still banking on him to be a great president in his second term, while Democrats are just hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.
