Cheshire Police confiscated 21 illegal bikes and e-scooters during raids in Warrington, addressing community concerns about anti-social behavior.
This was part of a bigger operation called Hard Hit, aimed at tackling the issues residents have been facing with reckless bikers. You know, the ones zooming around without helmets and causing chaos in pedestrian areas? Yeah, those guys.
The police have been on it since last year, trying to put a stop to this nonsense. They executed a warrant at a house on Marshall Avenue after a dangerous driving incident linked to an off-road bike registered there.
When they searched the place, they found 13 bikes and e-scooters just lying around in the living room, bedrooms, and even a garden shed. They also discovered some cannabis in one of the bedrooms, but no arrests were made yet.
The next day, they hit another spot in the Old Hall area and found eight more bikes. After all this, the police are stepping up their presence in Warrington to keep an eye on things and deter any more reckless driving.
PC Matthew Salmon mentioned that this operation is a direct response to community concerns. He reassured everyone that they’re serious about tackling this issue and will keep patrolling the hotspots.
If anyone has tips about illegal riding in pedestrian areas, they can reach out to Cheshire Police or Crimestoppers. It’s all about keeping the community safe and making sure everyone can enjoy their time out without worrying about reckless bikers.
