Detective Corporal John Kissane and La Grange Park Police commended for their teamwork in solving a violent crime from last summer.

The incident happened on August 28 when someone was robbed and shot during a Facebook Marketplace deal. It was a scary situation, but the police acted fast.
Two suspects tried to escape but were quickly caught by La Grange Park officers. They secured evidence, including the gun used in the crime.
Kissane didn’t stop there. He kept digging for more evidence and worked with witnesses to identify one suspect, Emmanuel Quiroz-Marquez. Thanks to his efforts, felony charges for armed robbery and aggravated battery were approved. The other suspect was a juvenile.
Village President Amy Jo Wittenberg praised the teamwork at a board meeting, emphasizing that public safety is a top priority.
Police Chief Matthew Walsh highlighted Kissane’s dedication and the quick response from La Grange Park as crucial to the case’s success.
Cmdr. Fran Marrocco from La Grange Park echoed this sentiment, noting how well both departments worked together.
Quiroz-Marquez faces serious charges, with potential sentences ranging from six to thirty years. Walsh reassured the community that the department will keep working hard to protect everyone.
