A new residential project in Lancashire aims to build 75 homes, boosting local economy and job creation.

They’re looking to submit a planning application soon to build around 75 homes, with hopes of getting the green light by 2025. This is just the first step in a mixed-use scheme that’s already got planning permission from December 2023.
The whole project is expected to bring a big economic boost to the area, potentially creating up to 5,600 full-time jobs. Jonathan Pickthall, the land director at Rowland, expressed excitement about the site, calling it a great spot for a sustainable development.
James Scott from Maple Grove added that selling the land to Rowland is a huge milestone for the Lancashire Central project, paving the way for more development and infrastructure improvements.
If everything goes as planned, we could see a mix of three and four-bedroom homes, including semi-detached and larger family houses. The location is pretty convenient too, just 3.5 miles south of Preston and 4.5 miles north of Chorley, right off the M65 and close to the M6 and M61.
Public transport is accessible, with bus stops on Stanifield Lane connecting to Preston, Chorley, and Wigan. Plus, Leyland Railway Station is about 1.6 miles away, offering direct trains between Blackpool and Manchester Airport.
County Councillor Aidy Riggott mentioned that this new housing site is key to unlocking the area’s potential for significant employment growth, which is great news for Lancashire.
