A historic church in Nelson will be transformed into a house of multiple occupation, featuring 11 bedrooms for tenants.

Nelson: Exciting news! A former church built in 1904 is set to be transformed into a house with 11 bedrooms. The Methodist church on Temple Street will soon welcome new tenants.
The developer, Mohammad Aslam, mentioned that the location is perfect for this kind of project. There’s plenty of off-street parking for at least 11 cars, which is a big plus.
Plus, it’s close to public transport, making it easy for residents to get around. The plans also include a storage unit for bins, which is super handy.
Pendle Council has given the green light for this conversion, but they’ve laid down some conditions. They want to make sure everything runs smoothly for the neighborhood.
According to the plans, the HMO will have shared kitchens and bathrooms, with one bedroom even being created in the old plant room. The second prayer hall will be split into four bedrooms, which is a clever use of space.
On the first floor, they’ll turn classroom areas into five more bedrooms. The largest bedroom will be a spacious 20 square meters, which is great for future tenants.
Before the project can kick off, Pendle Council has asked for some specific parking plans and to close off pedestrian access from Temple Street. It’s all about keeping the area safe and organized.
