Concord: So, there’s some exciting news coming out of Staten Island! Permits have been filed for a new school at 45 Cleveland Place. This place is set to be a five-story middle and high school. It’s right near the Verrazano Expressway, making it pretty accessible.

The new building will be quite impressive, standing 87 feet tall and covering a whopping 184,800 square feet. It’s designed to hold 1,350 students, complete with a lobby, cafeteria, kitchen, and even an indoor sports facility. Sounds like a great spot for kids to learn and play!

There will be three schools in total: a Gifted and Talented primary/intermediate school and two separate intermediate/high schools. They’ll share some facilities like a gym and auditorium, which is pretty cool.

Michael Bischoff from PEI Cobb Freed & Partners is the architect behind this project. As for the parking lot currently on the site, demolition hasn’t started yet, but it’s expected to kick off in March. Construction is slated to begin in May, though we don’t have a completion date just yet.

This new development is definitely something to keep an eye on!
