Washington: So, Pam Bondi is in the hot seat again. During her Senate confirmation hearing, she just couldn’t bring herself to admit that Joe Biden won the 2020 election. It’s wild, right?

When Senator Dick Durbin asked her about her past efforts to help Trump overturn the election, she dodged the question. Instead, she said, “President Biden is the president of the United States.” It’s like she was trying to tiptoe around the truth.

Then, Senator Mazie Hirono pressed her further, asking who won the 2020 election. Bondi just repeated that Biden is president, but didn’t say he won. Hirono was clearly frustrated, pointing out that it’s disturbing she can’t acknowledge the facts.

Even Chuck Grassley, the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman, acknowledged Biden’s win at the start of the hearing. So, it’s pretty clear where most folks stand on this.

Honestly, there are so many reasons Bondi shouldn’t be considered for the attorney general role. She’s got a history of questionable actions, from her time as a Trump super PAC head to her lobbying work. Plus, she’s faced bribery allegations, which she denies.

But the biggest red flag? Her role in spreading conspiracy theories after the 2020 election. She was one of the first to push false claims about election fraud, and that should have ended her career right there.

Yet, here we are. Trump still wants her in a top position, and she’s not even pretending to regret her past actions. It’s baffling how she can’t just admit the election results were legitimate.

When CNN’s Jake Tapper asked a GOP senator why someone who lies about election results would restore integrity in the Justice Department, it really made you think. There’s no good answer to that, and it says a lot about Bondi’s nomination.

This whole situation is just a reminder of how deep the denial runs in some circles. It’s going to be interesting to see how this plays out.
