New York City: The owner of the famous brownstone where Carrie Bradshaw lived in “Sex and the City” is fed up with tourists. She’s asking the city to put up a gate to keep the fans away.

For over two decades, her home at 66 Perry St. has been a hotspot for visitors. Many ignore the “No Trespassing” signs and climb over chains just to snap a photo.

In her application to the Landmark Preservation Committee, she mentioned how her home has turned into a global tourist attraction. The show is still popular, airing in 34 languages, which brings even more fans to her doorstep.

She described how groups gather at all hours, taking pictures and making noise. It’s become a real hassle for her and her tenants, and she just wants some peace.

Previously, she tried putting up a no-trespassing chain, but that didn’t stop people from posing on her steps. Some even try to ring her doorbell or open the front door!

Looking back, she feels guilty for allowing the show to use her building. She only agreed because she felt sorry for a young location scout who was worried about losing his job.

That scout, Tyson Bidner, now an executive producer, recalls feeling that pressure back then. He understands how the fame of the show has impacted the owner’s life.

Recently, a reporter visited the brownstone, but the owner didn’t want to comment. A tenant’s boyfriend mentioned that while there are many tourists, he hasn’t seen anything too wild.

One of the signs on the property even asks visitors to keep their voices down out of respect for the neighbors. Bidner expressed sympathy for the owner, wishing her luck with the committee meeting.

He hasn’t been back since working on the show but might stop by to see how things are going.
