Oti Mabuse Reflects on Huge Lessons After ITV Show Cancellation

London: Oti Mabuse recently opened up about the big lessons she learned after ITV canceled her weekend breakfast show. She co-hosted the show with Laura Whitmore, but both programs were dropped during a schedule change last year.

Oti, who hails from South Africa, reflected on how this experience taught her more than her successes ever could. At 34, she’s no stranger to winning, but she values the lessons from setbacks even more.

Since moving to the UK in 2015, she made waves on Germany’s Let’s Dance and later joined Strictly Come Dancing, where she won multiple times. After leaving Strictly in 2021, she became a judge on Dancing on Ice in 2022, working alongside some big names in the sport.

In a chat with The Times, Oti emphasized that failures often lead to the most significant lessons. She mentioned how she only went to her first concert at 31, realizing she had missed out on living life fully.

Oti also talked about her recent stint on I’m A Celebrity, where she finished fourth. She had to leave her young daughter and husband at home, but she felt it was the right time to take on new challenges.

She expressed her desire to expand her family soon, noting that her daughter is in good hands while she’s away. Oti is clearly focused on balancing her career and family life, and she’s excited about what’s next.
