New York: So, guess what? Orville Peck, the cool masked country singer, is hitting Broadway! He’s stepping into the role of Emcee in the revival of “Cabaret,” and it’s about time. This starts on March 31, and he’ll be performing alongside Eva Noblezada, who plays Sally Bowles.

They’ll be at the August Wilson Theatre for 16 weeks, which is super exciting. “Cabaret” is based on a play from 1951 and shows life in Berlin during the rise of the Nazis, all set against the backdrop of the city’s wild nightlife.

Orville’s taking over from Adam Lambert, and he’s been dreaming of this role since he was a kid. He loves how the Emcee can express so many different emotions and styles. It’s like a playground for actors!

Originally from South Africa, Orville moved around a lot before settling in the U.S. He trained as an actor in London and then switched gears to country music. His career took off in 2019 with his debut album, “Pony,” and he’s worked with big names like Elton John and Beyoncé.

As one of the few openly gay country artists, he’s a strong advocate for LGBTQ rights and even won a GLAAD award for his impact on acceptance. And here’s the kicker: he’s always worn that signature mask, so it’s a mystery if he’ll show his face as Emcee. He teased that you’ll have to buy a ticket to find out!
