A recent survey reveals that many partners become dramatic and stubborn when unwell, impacting their relationships.
When these partners get sick, 25% of people said they can be pretty stubborn, and 23% said they get all dramatic. Plus, 22% admitted their partner won’t even admit they’re feeling under the weather. It’s wild!
On average, people only feel 100% healthy for about 16 days in a winter month. That’s not a lot, right? The survey, done by Talker Research for Zipfizz, looked into what common ailments hit us during the colder months.
The biggest sign of being sick? A lack of energy, according to 58% of respondents. Other symptoms included coughing (42%), sore throat (40%), and congestion (38%). Some even mentioned mixing up the days of the week or getting into arguments with loved ones.
Interestingly, people usually suspect they’re getting sick two days before they actually do. And when they’re feeling under the weather, they tend to mention it twice a day until they feel better.
Both men and women complain about being sick equally, which is kind of surprising. Marcela Kanalos from Zipfizz said winter can be tough, and feeling off can really affect our mood and energy.
When they think they’re getting sick, 61% of people like to rest, while 58% stay hydrated and 46% take medicine. A cold usually knocks them out for about three days.
To avoid getting sick, 80% of folks said they stay hydrated, 77% take vitamins, and 75% make sure to rest. Kanalos emphasized that little steps, like staying hydrated, can really help during winter.
And just for fun, here are some of the most extreme things people have done when they’re sick: putting shoes in the fridge, forgetting their own name, and even driving with pizza on the roof of their car!
The survey was conducted online by Talker Research between December 5 and 9, 2024. It’s a real eye-opener about how we handle being sick and how it affects our relationships.
