Odell Beckham Jr. expressed pride in Saquon Barkley’s impressive playoff game, highlighting their past as teammates.
Beckham took to social media to share his excitement, saying, “So f–n proud of that boy!!! Since day one the illesttt I seeen put on cleats, that’s on my soul @saquon.” The two were teammates for a season back in 2018, and Beckham wasn’t alone in supporting Barkley; former Giants players Sterling Shepard and Daniel Jones were also there, hanging out in Barkley’s box at the game.
Barkley, who signed with the Eagles for a hefty three-year, $37.75 million deal after leaving the Giants, has been a standout running back. He nearly broke Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record, finishing the regular season with 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns. In the playoff game, he dazzled with a 78-yard and a 62-yard touchdown, racking up 205 rushing yards.
After the game, Barkley credited his offensive line and the quarterback for creating opportunities. The buzz around Barkley’s success has only highlighted the Giants’ struggles this season. Former Giants star Justin Tuck even questioned why they couldn’t keep him. Meanwhile, Eagles GM Howie Roseman is looking pretty smart for signing him, especially after they were seen celebrating together as the game wrapped up.
