Scranton: A 43-year-old man from Noxen is in hot water after trying to swap meth for sex. Jason Wood was caught in a police sting at a hotel in Scranton.

The police were looking into some suspicious activities related to prostitution when they set up an undercover operation. They found a website where people were advertising sexual services. An undercover officer posing as a prostitute got in touch with Wood.

He agreed to meet at a hotel on Meadow Avenue to trade meth for sex. When he arrived in his Jeep, he even texted the officer to say he was there.

Once the police caught up with him, Wood admitted he was there to meet a woman and exchange drugs. He told them he often “gifts” meth to people.

Officers found about five grams of crystal meth in his vehicle. Now, Wood is facing several charges, including possession with intent to deliver and patronizing a prostitute.

As of Tuesday, he’s sitting in Lackawanna County Prison with a bail set at $20,000. His preliminary hearing is set for January 23 at 9:15 a.m.
