Middletown: So, there’s this New Jersey cop, Justin Skelly, who’s in some serious trouble. He’s been suspended after allegations surfaced that he sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl multiple times.

Apparently, he was on duty when he approached her, even offering her alcohol. The accusations say this went on from August to December 2024. The local prosecutor’s office is looking into it, and it doesn’t sound good for him.

He’s facing some hefty charges, including sexual assault and endangering a child. The reports say he met up with the girl several times, and during those meetings, he provided her with alcohol and had sexual relations with her.

It gets worse. He was also allegedly sending her sexual messages and hanging around places where she and her friends would be, all while in his police car.

Now, he’s been suspended without pay, and the police department hasn’t shared much more info. Before this, he worked in Rumson and Sea Girt, so he’s been in the area for a bit.

If he’s found guilty of the sexual assault charge, he could be looking at up to 10 years in prison. The other charge could add another five years to that. It’s a pretty serious situation all around.
