Prince Street Pizza, a beloved NYC eatery, opens its first Chicago location, serving unique pizzas in the West Loop starting Thursday
Chicago: Chicagoans love to compare their pizza to New York’s, and now they can try a slice from a famous NYC spot. Prince Street Pizza has opened in the West Loop, bringing its signature pies to the city.
Starting Thursday, you can grab their famous Sicilian “SoHo” squares and Neapolitan pizzas at 939 W. Randolph St. This place started in Manhattan back in 2012 and has expanded to cities like Miami and Las Vegas.
But do we really need another pizza place in Chicago? Co-founder Lawrence Longo thinks so. He believes Prince Street fills a unique spot in the pizza scene, right between deep dish and tavern-style.
One of their standout offerings is the Spicy Spring pizza, loaded with spicy tomato sauce, pepperoni, and mozzarella. They even have a vegan version with sweet marinara and vegan cheese for those who prefer plant-based options.
For Neapolitan fans, they’ve got creative choices like The Green Machine, topped with nut-free pesto and olives. And don’t miss the Oakey Smokey, which features smoked mozzarella and fresh basil.
In a fun twist, they’ve teamed up with Caruso Provisions to create the Chicago Supreme. This pizza is packed with local flavors, including sausage, green peppers, and a sprinkle of poppy seeds on the crust for that true Chicago vibe.
Longo was initially hesitant about opening in Chicago, but he’s confident in their product. He hopes every slice will win over the locals. Prices range from $5.75 for a slice to $41 for a whole pie.
Prince Street is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and until 3 a.m. on weekends. You can also get their pizza delivered through Uber Eats and Postmates.
So, if you’re in the West Loop, swing by and check out what all the fuss is about!
