Inwood: So, there’s some exciting news coming out of Inwood, Manhattan! Permits have been filed for a new six-story mixed-use building at 562 West 171st Street. It’s right between Audubon Avenue and St. Nicholas Avenue, and super close to the 168th Street subway station, which is handy for those who take the A and C trains.

This new building is going to be pretty spacious, with a total of 42,299 square feet. Out of that, about 34,821 square feet will be for residential use, while 7,478 square feet will be set aside for community facilities. They’re planning to have 46 apartments, and it looks like most of them will be rentals, averaging around 756 square feet each. The structure will be made of concrete and will include a cellar, but there won’t be any parking spots.

Z Architecture is the firm behind the design, and they’ve got some solid plans in place. Just a heads up, demolition permits were filed back in December 2024, but we don’t have a completion date yet. Keep an eye out for updates!
