Bayonne: A new design has been revealed for 26 North Street. This upcoming building will be 14 stories tall and will have 500 rental units. It’s being developed by The L Group and Cali Futures, LLC, with MHS Architecture handling the design.

The building will stand 174 feet high and cover a massive 569,115 square feet. It will include studio to two-bedroom apartments, averaging about 749 square feet. Plus, there will be retail space on the ground floor and plenty of amenities for residents.

The design features three connected rectangular sections on top of a three-story podium. The exterior will have light gray aluminum framing and large windows, with some brown brick accents on the lower floors. There will also be balconies and a landscaped terrace on the roof.

Originally, the project was approved back in 2015 as a four-story building called “The Lofts.” The current plan includes 145 studios, 235 one-bedroom, and 120 two-bedroom apartments.

This new development is right next to the 8th Street Hudson-Bergen Light Rail station, making it super convenient for future residents. As of now, there’s no word on when the building will be completed.
