The Nevada Gaming Control Board has recommended Kambi Group for a sports-betting license, pending final approval in January.

After a nearly two-hour meeting, the board voted unanimously in favor of Kambi. The final say will come from the Nevada Gaming Commission on January 30.
If everything goes smoothly, Kambi will handle the software and manage the sports-betting platform for its clients. They’re not planning to go direct-to-consumer just yet.
Bally’s is Kambi’s main client in Nevada, especially with their casino at Lake Tahoe. A rep mentioned there aren’t any immediate plans for new Bally’s projects in Las Vegas. However, they’ve talked about a resort at the old Tropicana site, especially with the new MLB stadium for the Athletics coming up nearby.
Kambi’s managing director, Erik Logdberg, shared that they see Nevada as a fantastic business opportunity. The company, which started in 2010, works with over 40 operators across more than 50 places. They’re big in sports betting, covering everything from soccer to eSports, and they handle over a billion bets each year.
Most of Kambi’s top team is based in Sweden, but they’re making waves in the U.S., especially in states like New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
