After over seven months in space, Suni Williams finally enjoyed her first spacewalk, tackling repairs with fellow astronaut Nick Hague.

On Thursday, Suni finally got to step outside for her first spacewalk. She teamed up with Nick Hague to tackle some much-needed repairs while floating 260 miles above Turkmenistan. How cool is that?
Suni was excited, saying, “I’m coming out,” as they prepared to float into the great beyond. Next week, she’s set to go out again with Butch. They launched on Boeing’s Starliner capsule last June, thinking it would be a quick test flight.
But then, Starliner had some issues, and NASA decided to send it back empty. Plus, SpaceX delayed the launch of their replacements. So, they won’t be home until late March or early April—almost ten months after they took off!
This was the first spacewalk for NASA astronauts since last summer when they had to pause due to a water leak in an astronaut’s suit. Thankfully, NASA fixed that problem.
This was Suni’s eighth spacewalk, and she’s no stranger to life on the space station. It’s amazing what they’re doing up there!
