Napoli is moving to acquire Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United, who seek a £70m windfall amid financial pressures.

Manchester: So, it looks like Napoli is gearing up to snag Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United this January. They’re making moves since Kvicha Kvaratskhelia is likely on his way out.
Garnacho has caught the eye of Serie A teams, especially since he’s been a bit sidelined in Ruben Amorim’s plans. There’s chatter that he’s not as untouchable as he was last summer. United is feeling the heat from those Profit and Sustainability Rules, and they need cash to revamp the squad.
According to The Independent, Napoli is keen to push for Garnacho this winter and has given the thumbs up for the transfer. United seems open to negotiations, which is a good sign.
Things have shifted recently, with Kvaratskhelia asking for a transfer. Napoli has reportedly struck a deal worth around €80m (£67.5m) with PSG, so they’re looking for a replacement. Garnacho is on their radar, and he’s apparently open to the idea of moving.
Previously, Garnacho was considered ‘untouchable’ at Old Trafford, but that status has changed. Now, he’s in the same boat as teammates like Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund.
United is asking for about £70m for Garnacho, which aligns with Kvaratskhelia’s transfer fee. They picked him up for just £420,000 from Atletico Madrid back in 2021, so a £70m sale would really help with those PSR issues.
However, there might be some back-and-forth over the price. Napoli might only be willing to fork out €50m (£42m), and that gap could be crucial in sealing the deal.
