Maddow was especially shocked, asking, “How is this happening in America?” She was taken aback by seeing big names like Kristi Noem and Tim Cook at the ceremony. It’s like she forgot that billionaires backed Kamala Harris over Trump.
Joy Reid jumped in, saying Trump’s win showed some serious flaws in America’s democracy. She was all about how the institutions are being tested by this election. It’s wild how passionate she got about it.
During the panel, Reid went off about Trump’s policies, claiming they were erasing the civic memory of Washington. She listed executive actions that could change birthright citizenship and lead to mass deportations. It was intense.
Maddow kept asking, “How is this happening in America?” while Reid insisted that the new administration’s cruelty was the main point. She pointed out how Trump’s supposed to be this great Christian president but is attacking vulnerable groups.
