Whitehaven: So, Josh MacAlister, the MP for Whitehaven and Workington, is rolling out a series of 30 public events across West Cumbria. He’s really keen on connecting with folks in the area.

These events will pop up in 20 different towns and villages, from Flimby to Drigg. You can expect regular coffee mornings, drop-ins, street surgeries, and public meetings. It’s all about making sure everyone has a chance to chat and share their thoughts.

Every last Friday of the month, there’ll be coffee mornings and drop-ins in both Whitehaven and Workington. The first one kicked off recently in Distington, where about 20 locals showed up to grab a coffee and discuss everything from energy bills to speeding issues on their roads.

Mr. MacAlister mentioned that he wants to be a visible and accessible MP. He’s all about being reachable, whether it’s by email, phone, or even good old-fashioned post. Plus, these events are a great way for people to hear about his work and voice any concerns.

He’s got the schedule set up until the end of April, with 30 events lined up. He really encourages residents to come out, whether they need help or just want to know what he’s up to for the community. And hey, there’s tea involved!

Just a heads up, while all events are open to constituents, you’ll need to register for security and capacity reasons. You can sign up by visiting his website or giving the constituency office a call. It’s a great chance to get involved and have your say!
